Immediate Implants
Immediate implants are implants placed at the same time a tooth is extracted, sometimes referred to "teeth in a day." During the procedure the tooth is extracted in a careful manner where the gums and bone are left undisturbed to allow maximum post-operative comfort as well as leaving enough bone to stabilize the implant. The area around the implant is often grafted, and your general dentist can then place a temporary crown while the site is healing so you never go without a tooth. Dr. Matton places most of his implants in an immediate fashion which reduces the overall healing time by several months. The procedure can be performed under IV sedation for maximum comfort. |
